Hem Marmara hem Ege Denizi’ne kıyısı bulunan, tarihi, kültürel ve doğal güzellikleriyle ünlü Balıkesir, üniversite öğrencileri için de en iyi şehirlerden biri oluyor. Şehir, Balıkesir ve Bandırma Onyedi Eylül Üniversiteleri ile öğrencilere sunduğu iyi eğitim olanaklarının yanı sıra sosyal aktiviteler, konaklama ve ulaşım kolaylığıyla da dikkat çekiyor.

Her yıl yüzbinlerce öğrenci, üniversite hayatına adım atıyor. Bu süreçte tercihler yapılırken öğrenci dostu şehirler ön plana çıkıyor. Türkiye’nin en güzel şehirlerinden biri olan Balıkesir’de iki üniversitesi, yurt imkanları, ulaşım kolaylığıyla öğrencilerin tercihi oluyor. Balıkesir Üniversitesi ve Bandırma Onyedi Eylül Üniversitesi sunduğu imkanlarla öğrencilere iyi bir eğitim sunarken; Balıkesir’in tarihi, kültürel, doğal, sosyal ve turistik zenginlikleri de öğrencilere yeni deneyimler yaşatıyor.

Şehirle bütünleşen üniversite BAÜN

32 bin 550 öğrencinin eğitim gördüğü Balıkesir Üniversitesi’nin (BAÜN) merkez kampusu Bigadiç yolu üzerinde yer alıyor. Fakülte ve yüksekokulların büyük kısmı merkez kampus etrafında toplanıyor. Sivil Havacılık Yüksekokulu Edremit’te, Uygulamalı Bilimler Yüksekokulu Burhaniye’de konumlanırken, Altınoluk, Ayvalık, Bigadiç, Burhaniye, Dursunbey, Edremit, Havran, İvrindi, Kepsut, Savaştepe, Sındırgı’da ise meslek yüksekokulları bulunuyor. Şehirle bütünleşen üniversite ilkesiyle spordan sanata, sağlıktan eğitime ve enerjiye kadar çok sayıda farklı alanda etkinliklerin gerçekleştirildiği BAÜN’de 12 fakülte, 4 enstitü, 3 yüksekokul, 12 meslek yüksekokulu ile 23 araştırma ve uygulama merkezi buluyor. BAÜN öğrencileri ikisi kent merkezinde olmak üzere Balıkesir Gençlik ve Spor İl Müdürlüğü bünyesinde yer alan toplam 12 yurttan faydalanabiliyor. Ayrıca Balıkesir’de yaklaşık 48 özel yurt ve ev kiralama olanakları da bulunuyor.

54 ülkeden öğrenciler BANÜ’de buluşuyor

Bu yıl öğrenci sayısı 15 bin 500’e ulaşması beklenen ve Türkiye’nin en genç ve dinamik üniversitelerinden biri olan Bandırma Onyedi Eylül Üniversitesi (BANÜ), Bandırma merkezinde konumlanan kampusunün yanı sıra Erdek, Gönen, Manyas ve Susurluk’taki meslek yüksekokullarında eğitime devam ediyor. Üniversitenin 54 ülkeden 1.200 uluslararası öğrenci, yabancı uyruklu akademisyenler ile Erasmus ve Mevlana Programları kapsamında 100 uluslararası değişim programı anlaşması öğrencilere kendilerini daha fazla geliştirebilme imkanı sunuyor. Bandırma’da Kredi Yurtlar Kurumu’na bağlı üç öğrenci yurdu bulunuyor. Kız öğrencilere hizmet veren Bandırma Öğrenci Yurdu ve Fatma Ana Öğrenci Yurdu 1324, erkek öğrencilere hizmet veren Ayhan Songar Öğrenci Yurdu ise 452 öğrenciyi ağırlama kapasitesine sahip. Ayrıca 350 yataklı Manyas Kız Öğrenci Yurdu, Gönen MYO yerleşkesinde ise 200 yataklı erkek ve 150 yataklı kız öğrenci yurdundan oluşan bir yurt yer alıyor.

Mezun olmadan iş deneyimi kazanma imkanı

Balıkesir’de iş dünyası ve üniversite iş birliği çerçevesinde öğrencilere hem staj hem de iş imkanları sunuluyor. Bu sayede her iki üniversitenin öğrencileri de mezun olmadan deneyim kazanıyor ve mesleklerini uygulamalı olarak öğrenme fırsatını da yakalıyor. Ayrıca Balıkesir Üniversitesi’nde bir Teknokent, Bandırma Onyedi Eylül Üniversitesi’nde ise Teknoloji Transfer Ofisi faaliyet gösteriyor.. Öğrenciler eğitim- öğretim döneminde part-time ve yaz tatillerinde tam zamanlı çalışarak bölgedeki işgücüne de katkı sağlıyor.

Gençler için onlarca festival var

Balıkesir festivalleriyle de öğrenciler için farklı bir cazibe merkezi oluyor. En meşhur festivallerin başında Zeytinli Rock Festivali, Kazdağı EkoFest, Ayvalık Uluslararası Zeytin Hasat Festivali, Balıkesir Gençlik Festivali, Ekmok Uluslararası Motosiklet Festivali, Mysia Uluslararası Havacılık Festivali geliyor. Kentte bu festivallerin yanı sıra bisikletten yağlı güreşe, kaya tırmanışı şenliğinden kitap fuarına onlarca etkinlik düzenleniyor. Ayrıca üniversitelerin düzenlediği şenlikler ve farklı etkinlikler de öğrencilere keyifli bir üniversite hayatı yaşatıyor.

Yemekleri de çok lezzetli

Balıkesir zengin mutfağıyla da öğrencilere annelerin yemeklerini aratmıyor. Askalubrus, mürdük aşı, sarmaşık, börülce ekşilemesi, acı filiz kavurması, lor tatlısı, Girit lokumu, kabak çiçeği dolması, rabisa, şevketi bostan, sarımsaklı bulgur, saçaklı mantı, papalina, Balıkesir kaymaklısı, sakızlı dondurma gibi onlarca lezzet, çeşit çeşit zeytinyağlılar ve balıklar öğrencilere adeta lezzet şöleni sunuyor. Adeta taze meyve ve sebze cenneti olan Balıkesir’de kurulan semt pazarları da özellikle evde kalan öğrencilerin bütçesine katkı sağlıyor.

Feribotla da ulaşım var, trenle de

Doğuda Bursa, Kütahya; güneyde İzmir, Manisa; batıda Ege Denizi, Çanakkale ve kuzeyde Marmara Denizi ile çevrili Balıkesir, ulaşım kolaylığıyla dikkat çekiyor. Bu sayede hem öğrenciler hem de onlarla hasret gidermek isteyen aileleri kolaylıkla gidip gelebiliyor. Edremit Kocaseyit Havalimanı’ndan İstanbul ve Ankara’ya direkt uçuşlar düzenleniyor. İstanbul – İzmir Otoyolu güzergahında yer alan Balıkesir’den çevre illerin yanı sıra Türkiye’nin birçok noktasına otobüs imkanı bulunuyor. Balıkesir’e demiryolu ile de ulaşmak mümkün. İzmir ve Ankara çıkışı tren seferlerinin yanı sıra Kütahya ve Bandırma çıkışlı seferlerle de Balıkesir’e seyahat edilebiliyor. Ayrıca İstanbul çıkışlı feribot seferleriyle Bandırma ya da Bursa üzerinden Balıkesir’e ulaşım seçeneği de bulunuyor.
